Welcome to the Art Department.  My name is B. David Duncan.  This is my 6th year here at Lead Hill and I have enjoyed this experience tremendously.

I received my Associate of Arts Degree from Hannibal-LaGrange College and then on to finish my Bachelor of Arts Degree at Carson-Newman College in Tennessee with a major in Art and Art Education.  After teaching in a private school for a year, I took a staff  position as Supervisor of the Art Department in a Dallas publishing company, where I spent several years.

I came to Arkansas in 1988 to help take care of some family business and started working as a manager in a local company. During this time I began working on refining my art and entering various competitions around the country with both paintings and wood sculptures as well as operating my own business.  While doing this, I began to feel the urge to get back into teaching.  So after 18 years, I finally made the decision to take that leap.

Just so happens, at the time I began looking for a teaching position, Lead Hill was looking for a new art teacher.  Isn't it amazing when these things happen?  I had kept my Teachers Certification updated, so all I had to do was take the Praxis and here I am today.

Honestly folks, I live and breath art.  My whole life consists of art both here and at home.  My hope is that just a little of this will rub off onto my students. One day as they are out in the world doing something, a thought comes into their mind about an art class they had while in school and brings a smile to their face. "Mr. Duncan taught me that" they will say, what more can a teacher ask for.

This is a GREAT school and I want to thank all of you,  students, parents and staff for making this a wonderful place to teach and accepting me with open arms.

Feel free to contact me at any time with questions about your students.
